Authorities have observed an unusual receding of Siang river in Arunachal and a sudden change in its water quality. East Siang district deputy commissioner Tamyo Tatak said water samples have been collected by the central water commission and China is the primary suspect. “It seems that some major cement work is on in the upper reaches of the river in China … may be China is carrying out some deep water boring work,” he said. Rahul Gandhi was today reportedly listed as a ‘non-Hindu’ visitor at the famous Somnath temple in Gujarat. The Congress later clarified that the goof was made by a media coordinator accompanying Rahul. “… when the media coordinator wrote down Ahmed Patel’s name in the special register, the temple authorities asked who will be accompanying Ahmedbhai. The Competition Commission today imposed a fine of Rs 52.24 crore on the BCCI for anti-competitive practices with respect to the IPL. “The assessment of the Commission clearly brings out that the impugned clause in the Indian Premier League Media Rights Agreement has been pursued by BCCI consciously to protect the commercial interest of the bidders of broadcasting rights as well as the economic interest of BCCI,” it said.
India has recorded a 45 per cent jump in the number of petrol pumps in the last six years.
