In unusually direct and strongly worded criticism of previous administrations, Yang Xiaodu, the deputy secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection said “in a previous period”, corruption had been allowed to fester to such an extent that the party’s leadership had weakened, with supervision soft, and ideology apathetic. |

| The government advanced the rollout of cleaner Euro-VI compliant fuels in Delhi by two years to reduce pollution in the city. The oil ministry said all vehicles plying in the capital will have to move to the new fuel from April 2018 to reduce emissions. Currently, Euro-IV compliant fuels are being used but last year it decided to migrate to the Euro-VI level from April 2020, leapfrogging over Euro V norms. |
