Kerala minister Thomas Chandy today resigned after the state high court slammed him for filing a petition against his own government. Chandy , had been facing the heat as allegations surfaced that his company had violated rules to construct a parking area and a road through a paddy field to his Lake Palace resort in Alappuzha district. “The chief minister has assured us that the cabinet berth for the party will be kept vacant until I come out clean,” said Chandy. The government advanced the rollout of cleaner Euro-VI compliant fuels in Delhi by two years to reduce pollution in the city. The oil ministry said all vehicles plying in the capital will have to move to the new fuel from April 2018 to reduce emissions. Currently, Euro-IV compliant fuels are being used but last year it decided to migrate to the Euro-VI level from April 2020, leapfrogging over Euro V norms.
