Rohit Sharma scored his third double century in one-day internationals today. In November 2013, Rohit had become the second male batsman after Sachin Tendulkar to score an ODI double-century, stunning Australia with 209 off 158 balls with 12 fours and 16 sixes. A year later, against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens, he pummelled the highest score in ODIs -264 off 173 balls, with 33 fours and nine sixes.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused Congress-led UPA regime of pressuring banks to give loans to select industrialists. “Bank loans to select industrialists was loot of public money under UPA; it is a scam bigger than Commonwealth, 2G, coal scams,” PM Modi said in his address at FICCI’s 90th Annual General meeting in New Delhi. The government today extended the deadline for linking bank account with Aadhaar to March 31, 2018. “It has been decided by the Government to notify 31st March, 2018 or six months from the date of commencement of bank account based relationship by the client, whichever is later, as the date of submission of Aadhaar number & PAN or Form 60 by the clients to the reporting entity,” said the tweet through the handle of Ministry of Finance.
The National Green Tribunal declared Amarnath cave shrine a ‘silence zone’ and prohibited religious offerings beyond the entry point. A bench headed by NGT chairperson Justice Swatanter Kumar said the Amarnath Shrine Board should ensure that proper infrastructural facilities are provided to the pilgrims so that they are not deprived of a clear ‘darshan’, and the ecology of the area is maintained.
