RBI lowers GDP forecast to 6.7%, says next quarters will be better
Announcing the decision of the Monetary Policy Committee on Wednesday, RBI governor Urjit Patel cautioned against a fiscal stimulus, pointing to the combined (central and states) fiscal deficit of 6%. “We should be very cautious lest fiscal actions undercut macroeconomic stability,” he said.

“We will maintain financial stability and initiate all steps to step up investment and the growth rate. I want to assure you the steps initiated by the government will put the country in a league of development,” PM Modi said while addressing company secretaries.
