The US President Donald Trump today praised Western air strikes against Syria as “perfectly executed”. Adding that the mission was accomplished, Trump in a tweet congratulated France and UK. “A perfectly executed strike last night. Thank you to France and the United Kingdom for their wisdom and the power of their fine Military.” US President Donald Trump had announced a military operation with France and Britain on Syria against the regime of Bashar al-Assad and had alleged that the chemical attack last week was the ‘crime of a monster.’ Read

The US Treasury has added India to its watch list of countries with questionable foreign exchange policies. According to a report issued on Friday, the “monitoring list” includes those “major trading partners that merit close attention to their currency practices.” In addition to India, the report names five countries that continue on the list from October: China, Germany, Japan, Korea and Switzerland. China was one of the five countries included in the list as it constitutes a disproportionate share of the overall US trade deficit, said the report.
PM Modi today inaugurated the first healthcare and wellness centre under Ayushman Bharat scheme in Chhattisgarh. The healthcare scheme aims at covering 10 crore poor and vulnerable families and provide a cover of Rs 5 lakh per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalisation. The healthcare scheme was approved by the Union Cabinet on March 21 this year with the budgetary support of Rs 10,500 crore.

CM Mehbooba Mufti has written to J&K high court chief justice seeking trial of Kathua rape and murder incident to be completed in 90 days. She said that a fast track court should be set up to complete the trial of the case that has caused a nation-wide outrage. Meanwhile, the chief minister also terminated the services of four policemen – a sub-inspector, a head constable and two Special Police Officers (SPOs) – accused in the rape and murder of a minor in Kathua district.
