The Met department has issued another storm warning for northern India for the next two days. Five days ago, as many as 129 people lost their lives due to heavy dust storms that flattened houses. The Met office said that passing western disturbances, and a cyclonic circulation over northeast Rajasthan and its neighbourhood, is likely to cause rain in the plains of northern India. Isolated thunderstorms with hail and wind speeds exceeding 50kmph are “very likely” to occur over Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand until tomorrow. Seven Indian nationals working for a power company were abducted in Afghanistan yesterday. The abduction, coming days after India and China announced that they will develop a project jointly in Afghanistan, is a reminder of the vulnerability of Indian projects that have been targeted by Taliban and other extremist militia. According to television reports, local police officials said they had been told by the Taliban that the Indians were being held by the group.
Isro has developed a desi atomic clock which can be used in navigation satellites. According to sources, nine of the 21 atomic clocks used in some of the seven navigation satellites launched are showing errors. Isro is therefore planning to launch four backup navigation satellites to keep the Navigation with Indian Constellation effective. The space agency currently imports atomic clocks from European aerospace manufacturer Astrium for its navigation satellites.

Congress MLA Aditi Singh has denied wedding rumours with ‘brother Rahul Gandhi’. Photographs showing Rahul with Aditi, and their families began circulating on social media on Saturday.
