The FBI yesterday said that it could share ‘encrypted data’ with India pertaining to terror and criminal activities. The government had told the US authorities that it failed to get timely evidence on such activities as social media platforms like Facebook and WhatsApp had their servers in the US. Both the countries have now signed a treaty for sharing evidence through proper court procedures.

Over 28 lakh units of blood and its components were discarded by banks across India in the last five years. The National Aids Control Organisation revealed that even red blood cells and plasma were discarded as they could not be used before their expiry date. This has exposed serious loopholes in the nation’s blood banking system and the absence of a robust blood sharing network between banks and hospitals.
Nearly 300 WhatsApp groups were used to mobilise stone-pelters in Kashmir, a police official revealed yesterday. UK officials yesterday detained 38 Indians for overstaying their visas or working illegally. Britain’s immigration officials conducted raids in two clothing factories in Leicester and detained 38 Indians. Of those detained, 31 had outstayed their visas, seven had entered the country illegally and one was working in breach of their visa conditions.
