| The Centre is planning to build 96 more Indo-Tibet Border Police (ITBP) border outposts (BoPs) along the 3,488 km long India-China border. Having 96 more BoPs will reduce the inter-BoP distance on this icy frontier which will enhance the operational capabilities of jawans and will prove to be a deterrent to frequent Chinese transgressions and incursions into Indian territory. The new posts will also help reduce the time taken by the troops to travel on this arduous terrain & help in supplies of rations to the posts located at the altitude of 12,000 to 18,000 feet. |

| Facebook Inc has warned its users and investors of more data leaks. In its quarterly report shared with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), without mentioning Cambridge Analytica, Facebook said it expects to discover and announce more “instances of misuse of user data or other undesirable activity by third parties”. Either way, “the discovery of the foregoing may negatively affect user trust and engagement, and adversely affect our business and financial results,” the social-media giant said in the filing. |
| The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the Centre’s plea seeking review of its March 20 judgment, which did away with the provision of mandatory arrest under the SC/ST Act. Appearing before a bench headed by Justice Goel, attorney general K K Venugopal said the Centre had filed its written submissions in the case and it was ripe for consideration. The bench agreed for an urgent hearing and posted it for May 3. The AG informed the court that four states had separately filed petitions seeking review of the March 20 judgment. |
