Leading telecom operators are using pressure tactics on consumers to force them to link their SIM cards with Aadhaar. Those who use Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular, among others, have been fielding frequent SMS alerts and tele-calls from mobile operators and their field associates, asking them to link their numbers with Aadhaar. In some cases, the companies have gone so far as to threaten a disconnection in services.

Disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein was yesterday ousted from the Motion Picture Academy. The unprecedented decision comes after recent reports of sexual harassment and rape allegations against Weinstein going back decades.
