| The United Nations Human Rights Council slammed India for seeking to deport 40,000 Rohingyas. “India cannot carry out collective expulsions, or return people to a place where they risk torture or other serious violations,” United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein said. | The Centre may tweak the definition of transgender persons to shift the focus from “biological test” to the individual’s exclusive freedom to choose their gender. The Union social justice ministry has agreed with the strong argument of the parliamentary panel that a transgender not be defined through biological features, and have the right to choose their gender. |
| RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat pitched for changes in the Constitution and jurisprudence in line with the value systems of the country. “Our Constitution was written based on the understanding of the ‘Bharatiya‘ ethos of our founding fathers, but many of the laws that we are still using are based on foreign sources and were made as per their thinking.
