An all-woman team of the Indian Navy has embarked on an expedition to circumnavigate the globe. Defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman flagged off the expedition from Goa today. A new malware that steals money through victims’ mobile phones has been found to be active in India. The Xafecopy Trojan has hit more than 4,800 users in 47 countries in a month, while 37.5% attacks were detected and blocked by anti-virus softwares. Its modus-operandi does not require registering a debit or credit card or setting up a username and password, and also bypasses the ‘captcha’ security mechanism.
A portion of an under-construction flyover collapsed in Bhubaneswar, killing one and injuring 11. Hurricane Irma regained strength to a Category 4 storm on Sunday, ahead of making landfall in Florida. It slammed into lower Florida Keys and was 24 km southeast of Key West at 1100 GMT, bringing winds up to 210 km per hour and threatening dangerous storm surges. The storm was expected to move along or near Florida’s southwest Gulf coast later Sunday and into Monday.
