The recent terror attack on Amarnath pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir is of ‘great concern to us’, said the US state department. &ldquo;These were civilians, they were killed as they were exercising their right to worship, and that is in large part what makes this so reprehensible. That is a great concern to us,&rdquo; the state department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said about Monday&rsquo;s attack in J&amp;K&rsquo;s Anantnag district. The attack was carried out by terror outfit<a href=”http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/amarnath-attack-civilians-killed-while-exercising-right-to-worship-is-reprehensible-says-us/articleshow/59555187.cms”> Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT)</a> and was masterminded by a Pakistani terrorist Ismail.

Three terrorists were killed in a gunbattle with security forces in central Kashmir’s Budgam district. The gunbattle began on Tuesday evening after security forces launched a search operation following a tip-off about the presence of terrorists in Redbug village of Budgam’s Magam area, a senior Army officer said. “Their bodies along with three assault rifles have been recovered but the terrorists’ identities were yet to be verified,” he added.

The government said free food supplied in ‘food areas’ run by religious institutions have been kept out of the GST ambit. Clarifying on media reports which suggested that GST would be levied on free food supplied in anna kshetras run by religious institutions, a finance ministry statement said “this is completely untrue. No GST is applicable on such food supplied free”.
