Union home minister Rajnath Singh said infiltration from Pakistan came down by 45 per cent following the surgical strike. On Islamic State, Rajnath said that security agencies have been successful in nabbing more than 90 IS sympathizers. “Despite having a large Muslim population, IS has been unable to establish a hold in India,” he said. On Kashmir issue, he said, “This issue has been simmering since 1947. So a solution cannot be expected in a jiffy or the next couple of months.”

​Pass percentage of CBSE Class 10 examination fell to 90.95 per cent from 96.21 per cent last year, registering a dip of over 5 per cent. Results from Allahabad, Chennai, Delhi, Dehradun and Trivandrum regions have been uploaded on the websites. A total of 16,67,969 students appeared for the examination, of which 7,81,463 appeared for the school-based exam, while the rest took the board exam.
