A day before NSA Ajit Doval’s visit to Beijing, China accused India of intrusion in Doklam. China’s foreign minister Wang Yi said, “Senior Indian officials have openly stated that Chinese troops did not enter Indian territory. In other words, the Indian side admitted to entering Chinese territory.” On the other hand, India decided to be reasonable at the politico-diplomatic level without giving in to China’s military attempt to ‘bully’ Bhutan.

Ram Jethmalani quit as Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s counsel in the cases against Union minister Arun Jaitley. Jethmalani has also asked Kejriwal to settle his legal fees amounting to more than Rs 2 crore. The Delhi government had, this February, cleared a payment of Rs 3.5 crore. However, the chief minister’s office said they “have no intimation on Jethmalani withdrawing from the case so far”.

The Enforcement Directorate arrested separatist leader Shabir Ahmad Shah in the alleged terror financing case. The toll of Mumbai building collapse rose to 17 while the rescue operation is still on.
