Death toll in the Mexico earthquake crossed 250 as many bodies, trapped under collapsed buildings, are being recovered now. Police, firefighters and ordinary Mexicans dug frantically through the rubble of collapsed schools, homes and apartment buildings looking for survivors of Mexico’s deadliest earthquake in decades. The magnitude-7.1 quake struck on the 32nd anniversary of the 1985 earthquake that killed thousands.

The BCCI nominated Mahendra Singh Dhoni for the Padma Bhushan award. “Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been nominated by the BCCI for the Padma Bhushan award. It was a unanimous decision by the members. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said the Centre is considering additional measures to bolster the economy. “We have taken note of all economic indicators which are available … the government will take any additional moves which are necessary,” he said hinting that the Centre has taken note of the present situation of the economy that has hit a three-year low of 5.7 per cent in the first quarter of the current fiscal.
