India and China will hold the next round of border talks on Friday. This will be the first meeting after the 73-day-long military standoff between the two countries in Doklam. In a brief statement, the External Affairs Ministry said that at the invitation of National Security Advisor Ajivt Doval, Yang Jiechi, the State Councillor and China’s Special Representative on will visit India on December 22 to hold the 20th SR-level meeting. Nobody is going to apologise for PM Narendra Modi’s comments on Manmohan Singh, Venkaiah Naidu has said. The Rajya Sabha Chairman angrily told the disruptive Congress MPs who were protesting for an apology from PM Modi over his allegation that the former PM, along with other Congress leaders, is colluding with Pakistan to defeat the BJP in the Gujarat Assembly polls. Venkaiah also said that PM did not make his allegation in Parliament which was why no apology was required.
The juvenile apprehended in connection with the murder of Pradhyumn Thakur will be treated as an adult. On the basis of social investigation report and psychological report submitted by expert committee of Juvenile Justice Board, the Judicial Magistrate passed an order on Wednesday. The class XI student will now face the trail at sessions’ court. The Juvenile will remain at correction home till he attain the age of 21. He was 16.5 years of age at the time of crime.

Former TV producer Suhaib Ilyasi has been sentenced to life imprisonment today for murdering his wife 17 years ago. Iliyasi, who became famous after hosting the crime show &lsquo;<a href=””>India&rsquo;s Most Wanted</a>&rsquo;, was convicted on Saturday for stabbing his wife Anju to death. Additional Sessions Judge SK Malhotra also imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakh on him and directed him to pay Rs 10 lakh to his wife&rsquo;s parents as compensation. He was charged under Section 304 B (Dowry Death) of the Indian Penal Code.
TTV Dhinakaran camp has released a video of former Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalitha in hospital bed. The video has been released on the eve of the RK Nagar byelection and Jayalalitha can be seen in a night dress apparently watching TV and having a sip of juice. “Lot of controversies are floated on the death of our leader. We have no option but to release the footage. We will not leave anyone who malign our leader,” said Dhinakaran supporter and MLA P Vetrivel who released the video.
