SC has stayed ban on ‘Padmaavat’ imposed by four states, allowing for an all-India release on January 25. In its order, the SC also restrained other states from issuing such a ban+ on the exhibition of the film. It stated that all states are constitutionally obliged to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incidents during the film’s screening across India. Read.

India today test-fired its Agni-V intercontinental ballistic missile from Abdul Kalam island off Odisha coast. There was no immediate word on whether the first “user-trial” of the nuclear-capable Agni-V missile, which can even reach the northern-most parts of China with its strike range of over 5,000-km, had met all the parameters laid down for the test.
