Anil Kumble will continue as India coach until the West Indies tour which ends July 10. The Cricket Advisory Committee has asked the Indian cricket board for more time to resolve issues between skipper Virat Kohli and Kumble. A decision on Kumble is now expected to be taken at the cricket board’s meeting on June 26.

Madhya Pradesh’s chief minister said he will fast from today for the ‘restoration of peace’ in the state. Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s announcement of an indefinite fast comes after six people were killed in clashes with police on Tuesday during a protest by farmers in Mandsaur. Chouhan added that he will be available at the Dussehra Maidan in Bhopal from 11 am today so farmers can meet him todiscuss their problems.
PM Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping yesterday agreed to work together on bilateral issues. Naga rebel SS Khaplang, who formed one of India’s deadliest militant outfits, died of a heart attack yesterday. Khaplang founded the Bationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland. He had returned from China a few days ago after treatment and was heading towards his birthplace, which is close to the Indo-Myanmar border, when he died of heart attack.
