CRPF will use less lethal plastic bullets to tackle street protests in Kashmir. The bullets have been prepared in such a calibre that it fits the barrel of both 47 and 56, the AK series of rifles used by CRPF units deployed in the Valley. These will be an alternative to pellet shotguns as an option for non-lethal weapons. 21,000 plastic bullets have already been dispatched to Kashmir. Read

Over 40 per cent businesses that filed GST returns in July claimed ‘nil’ tax liability and paid no tax. In contrast, just around 0.3%, or a little over 10,000 companies accounted for almost two-thirds of the Rs 94,000 cr in GST mopped up by the government in July.
