India today decimated a lacklustre Sri Lanka by an innings and 239 runs in the second Test match to take a 1-0 lead. Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin (4/63) completed a coveted personal milestone of fastest 300 Test wickets in 54 games, beating Dennis Lillee’s previous record of 56 matches, as he took the last wicket. The ONGC has sought PM Modi’s intervention to stall oil ministry’s plan to sell the firm’s oil and gas fields. The oil ministry has identified 15 producing oil and gas fields of ONGC and Oil India Ltd for handing over to private firms on the premise of raising output. The Association of Scientific & Technical Officers cited several examples to state that ONGC has done well with its ageing fields.
The Income Tax department today served a Rs 30.67-crore notice to the Aam Aadmi Party. The department declared all the donations the party received as illegal. Following the notice, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, “In the history of India, All donations to a political party have been declared illegal. All these were accounted for and shown in books of accounts. This is height of political vendetta.”
