Pakistan allowed Kulbhushan Jadhav to meet his wife and mother, but only from behind a glass barrier. Pakistan called the allowing of the meeting a “humanitarian gesture, on the birthday of the father of the nation, Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah”. Pakistan allowed Jadhav to meet his family 21 months after his arrest and incarceration. The meeting took place at the Pakistan foreign office in Islamabad amid tight security. Read.

PM Narendra Modi today inaugurated a segment of Delhi Metro newly-built Magenta Line. The Magenta Line will connect Botanical Garden in Noida to Kalkaji Mandir in Delhi. With the commissioning of the new line, the travel time between south Delhi and Noida will be reduced from 52 minutes to 19 minutes. After the inauguration, PM Modi took a ride on board the Magenta Line metro.
After loss, AIADMK has sacked four supporters of rebel leader TTV Dhinakaran from their posts and ousted five others. The party leaders did not give any reasons for the dismissals. Mere 1.7% Indians paid income tax in AY 2015-16, according to data released by the I-T department.
