Fairs and religious celebrations happen all over the country. This month marks the continuation of auspicious Kartik period. On Kartik Poornima, Guru Nanak’s birthday is celebrated. This is one of the most sacred festivals for Sikhs. To ease business and promote transparency, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched new initiatives on Labour Reforms. ‘Shram Suvidha Portal‘ is an initiative by the Ministry of labour & Employment. This Portal seeks to ease the reporting at one place for various Labour Laws, consolidated information of Labour Inspection and its enforcement. The objective of the Portal is to enhance transparency in Labour Inspection and monitoring Labour Inspection based on key performances indices along with providing an effective Grievances Redressal System hyperlinked with Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) Portal. The initiative welcomed by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The initiative would provide schemes such as portability through a universal account number (UAN) for Employees’ Provident Fund subscribers, a single-window portal for business, and a labour inspection scheme would be included.

On October 28, 2014 World Wide Web consortium (W3C) announced the publishing of the HTML 5 Recommendation – that developers can use without having to pay royalty, for empowering all human beings to use a wide variety of devices ANYWHERE to share photos, read news, seek information & services.

On 2nd October, 2014, the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan was launched to involve citizens in ensuring clean streets and infrastructure in the country – Visit Swachh Bharat Portal to participate.
