Indians have become the second-largest group to take US citizenship in 2016. Although Mexicans continued to be on top of the list, nearly 46,100 Indians obtained US citizenship last year. According to a recent data released by the US department of homeland security, Indians accounted for 6% of the total citizenship conferred by the US government on 7.53 lakh individuals during the fiscal year 2016.

India’s economy has recovered from the impact of demonetisation and GST, with 6.3% growth. According to data released by the Central Statistics Office, the economy grew 6.3% in July-September, the second quarter of the fiscal year. The growth was faster than the June quarter’s 5.7%, due to the expansion led by robust manufacturing.
